Repopulation Method for Improvment of Reproductive Performance of Sows

چکیده

The experiment was designed to evaluate differences in reproductive performance parametres in sows of selected utilitarian breeds before and after repopulation. The experimental population consisted of 160 sows, while the group before repopulation counted 80 sows from 1 to 5 litter. The repopulated (newly brought) group counted 80 gilts at the 1 litter. The values of the total number of piglets per litter were 12.21 ± 2.63 before repopulation against 15.96 ± 2.20 after repopulation. The nember of live -born piglets was 11.25 ± 2.43 before repopulation and 14.63 ± 2.09 after repopulation. Before repopulation 0,96 ± 0,99 of piglets were stillborn and after repopulation the number was 1.30 ± 1.36. The values of number of reared piglets were 9.69 ± 1.75 in the group before repopulation against 13.44 ± 1.79 in the group after repopulation. The differences in the total number of piglets, the number of live-born piglets and teh number of reared piglets were highly statistically significant (P < 0.001). The results of the experiment confirmed the positive effect of repopulation on reproductive performance parametres of sows.

Effects of Various Feeding Methods for Gestating Gilts on Reproductive Performance and Growth of Their Progeny*

This study compared the effect of four different feeding methods for gestating gilts on reproductive performance and growth of their progeny. A total of 40 F1 primiparous sows (Yorkshire×Landrace) were allotted to four treatments in a completely randomized design (CRD). For treatments, gestating period of sows was divided into three trimesters (0-35 d, 36-90 d and 91-110 d) and different amount...

EFFECT OF L-CARNITINE FED DURING GESTATION AND LACTATION ON REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF TLRI Black Pig No.1 SOWS AND LITTER PERFORMANCE

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of L-carnitine fed during gestation and lactation on reproductive performance of sows and litter performance. A total of 57 multiparous TLRI Black Pig No.1 (TBP) sows were used in this experiment. Pregnant sows were provided daily 150 ppm L-carnitine from day 91 of pregnancy to farrowing and 250 ppm/d L-carnitine provided postfarrowing throu...

Effects of dietary energy and lysine intake during late gestation and lactation on blood metabolites, hormones, milk composition and reproductive performance in multiparous sows.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different energy and lysine intake on reproductive performance of multiparous sows during late gestation and lactation. Thirty-six sows were allocated to six dietary treatments in a 3 x 2 factorial arrangement and each treatment had six replicates. Three energy levels and two lysine levels were used during late gestation and lactation. The ...

Effect of social ranks and gestation housing systems on oxidative stress status, reproductive performance, and immune status of sows.

Ninety-six multiparous sows were randomly assigned into 2 different gestation housing systems on d 35 of gestation: individual gestational crates (n = 24) or small groups with 3 sows in gestational pens (n = 24). Sows were classified into 4 treatments based on gestation housing systems and social ranks within each gestational pen: sows housed in individual gestational crates were in control tre...
